Hello. So I've had my tank for a little over 2 months now until I found my cleaner shrimp missing and witnessed my Nassarius snail kill a crab. I was really fond of the shrimp and planned on getting more but now am unsure. On the flip side I could ditch the snails but they keep the sand clean. I also currently have a damsel so wasn't sure if it killed the shrimp while everybody else ate it. I didn't see the snail kill it but the shrimp was gone after coming home from a week vacation. Anybody else ever had problems with Nassarius snails?

usually it will be a crab killing a snail. crab should be able to move faster than the snail.

Chances are the crab died and the snail was just doing it's job. Cleaning up the crab.

Only half the crab was alive still and running around before I saw the snail engulf it while it was fighting it off. Guess shoulda recorded it for skeptical sarcastic SOBs out there

There are some snails that feed exclusively on crabs, and others that include crabs in their diets.
