I have a 180 gallon SPS dominant tank. I have had a ATS on it for 2 years or so now with no major issues. 4 months ago I added a Calcium reactor. Interesting thing I noticed was that my ATS was doing much much better. My nutrient level in my aquarium was better and my SPS overall are looking better. I feed as much as I want now and don't have to worry about P or N levels. What I also noticed was my calcium levels were slowly going up. From around 410-425 ppm during this time period. But I am having issues in keeping my alk levels near 8.

Some of the guys are saying that since you run your skimmer air intake from outside, you have less CO2 in your system and your ATS is taking up carbonate instead. Hence lower alk levels. Please chyme in and let me know if you guys are seeing this interesting issue and what have you guys have done about it.
