Hello All,

As was discussed in another thread, I received a very nice Ritteri from DD yesterday. Got him in, acclimated for a few hours, and then put him in tank with reduced flow (vortechs turned all the way down) and AI's turned down to about 5% and then let him settle for the night. Turned the vortechs back up to normal over the course of 118 hours and so, and well, here he is as of this afternoon.

Mouth is tight, and as woudl be expected, loves the flow. Directly under one of the AI lights at about 300PAR and we will take it from here.

A pair of Snowflakes from ORA will be here on Friday to call it home.

Thanks for looking and I will keep you posted.

Evening all,

Thought I would share an info and a question.

As you see in the first pictures, nem looks to be settled in.

My question and concern however is that it is on a regular daily schedule of deflation. Every day between 4-5 PM it deflates pretty strongly. Foot remains attached in place and holds strongly and will re inflate around midnight and remain so until 4-5PM the next day.

A couple of bits of information.

The Anemone has moved only an inch or so since placement. Lighting is AI lights at 50-60%, one unit directly above nem and a PAR reading of around 280-300 at the nem. Lights start ramping up at 11AM and reach full intensity at 1PM and begin to decrease at 8PM till dark at 10PM

Flow is 2 MP40's with nem between them, plenty of flow.

Parameters:

Sal: 1.026
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 7ppm
Phos .04 (hanna)
Alk 141ppm (8DKH)
Cal 460
Mag 1350

I am not sure if it is just getting used to the tank or is having a problem. No issues with other corals or fish in tank.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I would assume the deflation has to do with the acclimation to your lighting. If it's possible to decrease the light around the time it starts to deflate, you could see if that seems to be the issue. If it is the light, I would reduce the light at the time it starts to deflate (4-5pm) and increase it by 15 minutes every 3 days or so.

Mine only deflated once about 4 days after i got him in the tank and never did it again. As stated maybe the lights are too intense. Your nem looks very red? is it the picture or the LEDS? I actually have my nem closer to the bottom of my tank because i have very strong LEDS on my tank and didnt think it would like to be up high. My params are right around where yours are so i dont think they are an issue
