I have the Odyssea 36" 156 watt t5ho 4/39 watt . I have had it almost 5 years and it's been a great light!! Never a prob with any of it not even with the ballast's. The only thing I did was change out the bulb's with Giesemann bulb's. But bulb's need to be changed about once a year anyway. I am now upgrading to the new Odyssea adv plus 36" 406watt 4/39 watt t5ho and 1/250 watt mh. Should be here monday orderd from ebay $189 free shiping and I had a $10 discount. Will post pic's soon

Nice. I always like seeing positive reviews from people who have the products versus negative reviews of people who don't. For what it's worth, I enjoyed my light from them too.

I had the older version of that one you got. But ran 96 watt PC's instead. Also used a phoenix 14k bulb with the original ballast. My corals loved it.

Hi all thanks for the comments keep them coming! So my light came today ups no damage to the box or light and well packed! Shiping was fast ordered friday and showed on time monday. The light has been running about an hour and it's not any hotter than the t5ho was! Witch is good b/c I do not have a chiller on my tank and dont want to buy one but I will if I have too. The ballast is quiet and cool and the light works fine. The m/h has a nice blue tint no yellow yet and cast's the whole tank well the shimmer is the best and the fan is nice and quite.

What size tank is that? I planned on purchasing that exact fixture for my 40B and wanted to know if I hung it 6-10" above the tank if I would get coverage from both ends. Looking good!

Also, Do yourself a favor and put 2x2s under each corner to raise the light and use a fan. With raising it up that lil bit more and running the fan will work wonders! But dont run the halide for an extended period of time at 1st. Your corals will have to adjust to it. Otherwise you risk bleaching them.

I bought my old t5ho only from Aquatraders.com! It's a great light im going to keep it for a back up or maybe a frag tank in the future b/c it still works fine it just need's new bulb's. Im very happy with Odyssea light's I even have one of there uv sterilizer's. But after 4 years the ballast went out so I orderd a new ballast on ebay. I also plan on getting the hanger kit and a set of easy roll light hanger so the light can be moved up and down.http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=4843&pictureid=33702

I went over to fry's and picked up 2 computer fan's 12volt dc 0.2A . And got 1 12 volt dc 500ma plug in transformer. I put one fan on the ballast and one fan on the light cost about $12. That should help keep thing's cooler not that it's that hot.

What GPH are your power heads in that tank? Im setting up a 40 long and I'm not sure if 1x750 head will do it?

And nice tank and beautiful lighting by the way.

Thank's! When it come's to flow it really depends on what you plan on keeping in the tank for fish and corals. Like a sea horse need's very low flow! I got two heads on ebay there 800 gph but they where way too much for my tank so I had to modify them to lower the flow. I wish I had bought hydor koraila nano 450 gph and will soon! I run two head's b/c I run one at night and both during the day and will be getting a jbj ocean pulse wavemaker wave maker also.

It looks longer then the tank. I was thinking about getting that light. Can you measure it for me? I have a canopy and not sure if it would fit.

It's 35 and 1/2 in long 13 and 1/2 in wide and 3 in tall. It's almost the exact same size as my tank. My tank calls for a 24 in light fixture but I wanted a 36in it just looks better when you don't have a canopy and I wanted to be sure the light coverd the whole tank too. It look's like You might be able to save about a 1/2in if you take the plastic end caps off the fixture if that helps. you also have to have room above the fixture for the built in fan it pull's air in one of the top vent's and blow's it out the other vent on top.

Update light is running fine no prob's so far! But I am having problems with my 3 year old tank:( I have a Clear For Life acrylic 30 gallon UniQuarium by Advanced Aqua Tanks. The tank is separating at the seams and has sarted to leak very slowly. It is also cracking around the top at the corners and the whole front and sides are crazing! I have been talking with the shop I bought the tank from and they are replacing the tank and giving me the 40 gallon
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=4831&pictureid=34386 These are the separation's they are about every 3 in and the bigest one is about 3 in long on the top you can see dirt in the seam and it started leaking 2 days after this shot!
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=4831&pictureid=34387These are just some of the crack's!

Update! It's been along time with the Oddasea light. And am happy to say I never had a problem with them! Been running every day for almost 4 years now. This was the second light I got from Oddasea the first ran great for 3 years before upgrading from t5ho to t5/mh. I Will be thinking about selling this one or the other one I have . I will be keeping one as a backup. Because I have upgraded to led AquaIllumination's Hydra 26's to be exact 2 of them with the director.
