Goby's without a sand bed

Running a FOWLR and was looking at getting a Diagonal Goby but I read they require a sand bed currently I have crushed coral. At the LFS they were all in CC, so I am wondering with enough places to hide in the LR would they be fine in CC?

No, they need fine sand to sift. Crushed coral will tear thier mouth and belly up.
