Skimmer

How much skimmer is too much? I have a 50 gallon Oceanic Cube and 25 gallon sump system made out of another 33 gallon Oceanic. I have a Deltec TS1060 that can handle up to 400 gallons lightly stocked and 260 heavily stocked. I also have a Aquariums Systems 100 which skims a 100 gallon system supposedly but does not work very well. Should I save the Deltec for a larger future system and find a more suitable replacement for the Aquarium Systems 100 for the 75 gallon system?


Opinions? The Deltec does skim well but does need constant cleaning for the foam head to collect in the cup.

This is going to be your limiting factor. IME that is the sign of too much. It will still skim, but will need more frequent cleaning to be efficient. If you are ok with this, then there isn't much to worry about.
