Hair algae or bryopsis????

I can't tell which one I have can someone explain how I can tell the difference!?!?!?!

Bryopsis has a blueish green tint to it, and has fragmented strands that look like feathers. I've never had an animal that eats bryopsis other than a sea hare. The easiest way to get rid of bryopsis is by elevating magnesium using Kent Tech M. Do a search for the procedure if that is what you plan on doing.

+1 to the above but I've never seen a sea hare eat it.

Hair algae can be pulled out in clumps usually all the way down to the rock.

Bryopsis feels much more brittle and will break break in the middle if you try manual removal. It will feel "hollow" when you try to pull it out, like the individual strands are collapsing between your fingers.(that should make sense if you try pulling it out)
