Arrrgh!!! :debi: :headwalls: I hate coralife for what they are doing here. Sorry to rant man, but if you can return the light, i would.
I started the hobby with a 30" 29g like many people, and seriously wanted that light for a long time. I ended up getting a 2x31w unit and liked it for a bit......until i found out NO ONE except coralife makes 31watt 28" bulbs. All of the good manufacturers that make good bulbs make them for 24,36,48 etc. There is nothing wrong with coralifes bulbs.....but a good 24w ati bulb(in a good reflector) will put out almost 2x the light corals need compared to the coralife bulbs......

I eventually just modded mine by taking it apart, removing the endcaps and moving them in 4" , and cutting a new slot for them to accept 24" bulbs.

If you can not return it, and you do not want to mod it to take the shorter bulbs, ......you could probably do some sps(not acros) in the top 6" and then mixed lps and softies below, but you will have softies only on the bottom....

Just my opinion, rant over, Hope it helped?

ps, i noticed while looking at your other threads, Welcome to the hobby:celeb1:, and if you are going to skimp on a skimmer just go without one till you save up for a good one. Extra water changes will make up for the lack of a skimmer.
