Reef fanatics and SPS keepers,

First off my current setup is as such:

Display: 300 (96*24*30) acrylic
Sump: 120 gallon sump (40 fuge with a 6-8” DSB Cheato under a 5000K flood lamp)
Reactor:BRS Jumbo (GFO) Phosphate reactor
Reef Octopus 5000 internal
Lights:144 Cree Leds (B:72 W:72) reefledlights.com
Closed loop: Reeflo superdart gold
Return: QuietOne4000
Controller: Apex
RO/DI: 6 stage

Fish:
Genicanthus bellus
Acanthurus achilles
Zebrasoma xanthurum
Zanclus canescens (I rescued it from a pet store)
Amphiprion ocellaris (chocolate dipped)
Chromis viridis

(All my fish are eating everything from NLS, Rod's, Nori, Flake etc...)

My question is this my tank has been up and running for about a year now and I have a Vertex Rx Duo reactor and I was wondering what media I should run in each chamber. Along with that I was wondering how much more flow I should add to the tank. My goal is to be SPS heavy. I was planning on picking up one mp60 do you think this would be enough? If you guys have any other thoughts about my tank let me know (missing equipment more fish etc...)

Thank you!

Alexander

You can run bio balls in one chamber and carbon in the other. Also I would go with at least 2 MP60's if not more. My buddy has a 60 and a 40 on a 180gal and he s going to replace the 40 with another 60.

+1 - I have 1 MP60 and 2 Korlias (1,400 gph) on my 210 and it is pretty good but I don't think a single MP60 would be enough for me...

I was getting the impression you were asking about what CaRx media to use...?
I personally like the coarse stuff. It doesn't seem to clog up as fast, seems to circulate better in the Rx.

It looks like this fancy Rx you have has a chamber for Phos media? Seems a Ca Rx would be kinda low flow for Phos media, but maybe I'm not understanding how it actually works.

I think you will like the MP60, especially with the closed loop you are running. This will probably work fine for quite a while. As your SPS grow in, you will eventually, more than likely, need more flow. Wouldn't be surprising if you eventually get four MP60s.

i have a 96x24x20 tank and run 4 hydor magnum 8's, 3400gph. have the apex running them on a random cycle so sometimes there is 2 on and sometimes 3 or 4. Could use about 2 or 3 more. so get a couple 60's and dial them back if you have too much flow, or just set them really random and chaotic
