If it is HA then gfo in a reactor and cuc that will eat it. Pic would help. Any manual removing will definitely help go a long way. I fought it for months, started pulling a cupfull or so a night and it began dieing off with the gfo help. Water changes are also a must as your nutrients are probably high. Nitrate and phosphate are the main culprits even if they don't register. The HA is using them to grow.
