Excellent snails! Well worth the extra $$ they cost.

Trochus snails, in my experience, have the best ability to upright themselves. That isn't to say that they are still pretty dumb. I've had several in my tank that I couldnt reach and end up not being able to turn themselves over. They always make a good effort though to rock themselves back and forth and grab onto something.

To make another note. In my 75gal I only use trochus and nassarius snails. Best combo I've found in combination with hermits for a solid cuc.

funny that I just saw this post...I swear I've just had to flip over my banded trochus twice today...I wonder if it has trouble negotiating loose fine sand

they can flip themselves. They sometimes have trouble on fine sand.

yes they can flip themselves back over, also on nerrite snails I was told they are a type that perfer tidal type areas in nature and will usually live short lives in an aquarium. just what I was told when I was looking into them.
