I am setting up a new tank and would like to introduce Macros, but do I need CO2 injection in it if the fish population is low?

No. All you need is some chaetomorpha algae submersed in water with a light shining on it when the main tank lights are off. This will keep your pH a little more stable and grow your macro algae.

I think he's actually referring to a macro oriented tank, but the answer is still the same. Anyway OP, I'm not sure if you are aware, but there is a subforum on RC dedicated to macro and macro oriented tanks here:
