Coral frags are way cheapier to buy than a big coral but do they actually survive? Like is it better to buy regular corals or buy frags?

I like to buy frags because i like to watch them grow, plus i have a smallish tank and can't fit many big pieces

But I bought two frags of xenia and they died but when I bought bigger ones they survive. The only frag that has survived was a pineapple brain that hasn't grown at tall

Only problem I see is that some tanks start to look like a stamp collection and as the corals grow and compete for space, problems arise.

But I think it's great when people get together in their area and have a frag swap. Everyone walks away happy and with money still in their pocket.

And understanding what your particular corals need and adjusting your water parameters.

Frags are the best way to go... just try to plan for future growth and watch them rise

What are some good frag corals that adapt well and grow well?

What lighting do you have. Size tank? Flow?

Is there a magic supplement to make corals grow fast?

I didn't ask that same question here but when I did of the LFS owner he very quickly said "SURE IS"
Now of course, the enthusiasm in his voice and the quickness of his response had me on edge for the answer, which was;
"Good water and time, period"

frags are good because they "supposedly" come from a growing, thriving coral.

Yeah but some corals are harder to keep than others so what are some frag corals that usually survive? Like a colt coral or something...

the easier frags are the same as the easier corals.

shrooms, leathers, colt, zoos, etc.
