I use to prefer the blue 20K look because I kept a lot of tangs and fish with blue in them. Now I'm getting into butterfly fish which have a lot of yellow so I'm thinking a 12-14Kish look might be more natural. I want to hear what others prefer since we don't get coral pop on FOWLRs.

i use 2x150w MH. left side i have a 14k bulb and right side a 20k bulb. it just so happen that i have different bulbs and not that i have it different intentionally.

i like the look of the 20k side more though.

10k with 03 actinic supplementation. The fish we keep (Scorpaeniformes) appreciate the dawn/dusk periods and you can't beat a crisp white light, esp. for shooting photos. We also use blue moonlights a lot.

I go heavy on actinics. Something very marine about a deep blue aquarium.

I don't use my Actinic lights just because I don't like the look of a blue tank. I stick to my daylight bulbs with moonlight LEDs only for my late-night viewings.
