Do the DI canister in line with the RODI lower the TDS more?

Are you referring to the on board di cartridge or a second auxiliary one

auxiliary final stage, due to a water tech told me that its a resin and it do not add any significant filtration

A DI unit removes what TDS are left over after the RO. Normally that's somewhere around 6-10 TDS depending on your incoming TDS and the quality of the RO system. It can be used, if the water goes through slowly enough to create 0 TDS by itself, but it's not cost effective.

Ideally if you have a T and a ball valve between your RO and DI you can test for yourself if it is needed. For drinking water, DI is not needed. THat could be why a water tech says it doesn't do much. But even 10 TDS can be significant if you have 20 gallons of evaporation a week. If you have one DI resin chamber that was putting out 0 TDS water and added another it would not do anything.

Yes.

For example, if your tapwater reads 250 ppm, and your RO water reads 12 ppm, your DI water would read 0 ppm.

If you are thinking of adding a DI cartridge, use a full size (10" x 2.5" nomimal)refillable cartridge, not a horizontal in-line cartridge.
