This almost sounds like a dumb question but I was going to buy this clam but I noticed the middle of it is see thru. The mantle is fully extended and the valves arent gaping or anything. You can kind of tell from the photo that it looks healthy. Just that its transparent in the middle. Didn't buy it yet but it's $35. Great price if it's healthy.

I have a 30 gallon with a boost led par 30 lamp. It's been almost 10 months running now. So I believe so.

Is it normal for clams to have that part of their flesh see thru?

it's really hard to see from that pic exactly what you really mean by see-through flesh. if the center area is too thin, or really bleached out, it's possible that indicates an issue, but ive never seen inside my clams, except through the inhalant siphon, so it's not something i can understand.

Yeah that's exactly it... Like I can see right into the flesh below. Like how a jellyfish is transparent. Should prob hold off...
