Is this big guy ok in a SPS tank or should I get rid of it? I do run Carbon thru a reactor. It's about the size of a Basketball. Has never stung anything more curious about chemical warfare? Thanks in advance....

I would keep it, we have a big bubble coral like that in our tank and never had problems even when we didn't run carbon. What I would worry about is keeping flow for sps without hurting the coral. It took a while to find a good spot to put ours in and even in the spot with the least flow its not as happy as it should be. Are your powerheads off in that shot?

I would be more concerned about sweeper tentacles. Don't put anything nearby that you can't afford to lose.

It will sting, but I'd def keep it! Just don't mount anything too close. If the sps grow towards it, the bubble will turn it away.

It looks good where it is IMO.

The only thing it's not going to like is when your sps grow up and you have to increase flow.

Thanks guys for the replys. I have had this for two years without any problems. I run two Vortech MP40's full blast. The Bubble is in a low flow area. I just wondered with the tank getting more established (SPS growing) do I need to worrie about chemical warfare? But I guess if it has not happened yet it probably not going to be a problem. Thanks again

I have kept many non sps species in with my sps. Sweepers can be a problem but I have never observed any chemical warefare going on that wasnt completely local.
