The larger the better because it gives you more volume in your system. If your stand sits out a little ways from the wall you could add a larger size sump and just let it hang out the back of the stand. If you do that, you may need to shim under the front side of the sump to level it up front to back.

Honestly, I am not sure a 5 gallon sump would even work --- worried about how much water would go back into the sump when the main pump is off. I know for my 65 (( with a 20 long sump )) that at least a gallon or 2 back flow into it.

yeah Toddrtrex thats kinda what i was thinking i realy dont know what i could do, my stand is against the wall so couldnt stick it out the back, i may just have to build a new stand but im not good at all with wood :/ . also does anyone know how i could intagrate my rena XP3 filter system into a sump or is that something i would have to leave in my DT? im realy just wanting my tank to look a lil more clean.
