40 Breeder w/ 29gallon sump. Est total volume 50 gallons. I was going to purchase a Bubble Magus NAC6 rated at Capability : 400L-600L (100G-160G)
My dilema now is I am reading that some skimmers can be TOO much and therefore will not function properly. Would I be better to get the models under this one like BM-NAC5 Capability : 300L-500L (80G-135G) or even smaller BM-NAC3+ Capability : 100L-300L(25G-80G)
Please Help and thanks.

It will really depend on your bio-load. In a 40 you prob are not going to have much of a load so I would think that the NAC 3+ will be plenty. I have the nac 3.5 skimmer and it a nice one for the money. I also have a iTech 100 and a ATB Mikro. I like the 3.5 but I am running bio pellets and I have a hefty bio load so I switched to the ATB.
