Hello everyone, So I'm trying to make my own stand for a 60x24. I remember seeing that some had used a hinged door on the side for sump access but I can't find it now. I had thought that I could somehow have the whole left side hinged to get the sump in and out but maybe I was imagining things. Does anyone know what I'm talking about. pictures + directions would be great.
Thank You

i have mine on the side hinged, more for access to the UV and to gain access to sump but i could take out the sump through it.

The problem I think I have is that the space has to be the space in between the frame. I only have an inch of wiggle room. In your picture it's hard to tell if where the door lays flat against the wood is the frame or did you put that their to attach the door?

i dont know if it will help but here is a pic during construction, i built the frame using 2x4's then skinned it with poplar for painting. there are lots of hinges that mount in different ways if that helps?

I have been making stands with a door on the end of my stand for a while now.
Plus I make sure the sump will slide in and out

The stand for my 75g setup has two front doors and a door on each end.

Here's the build thread:

Here are the pictures of the doors on the ends:

Left Side:

I built my stand using an internal strucutre and face panels. The structure supports the weight of the tank so the panels are just for show. The doors mount to the panels and the panels are screwed to the structure.

I just cut in the end panel door the same as the front ones.
My stands aren't anywhere near as some that are shown here.
I just cut out the (3/4" oak plywood) squares, trimed the pieces with 3/4" quarter round molding and installed them as doors in the hole.
