So I am getting ready to hook up my ro/di to my washing machines cold water valve. I am doing this pretty standard, Y-valve to laundry tub > 1/4" reducer. I am a little confused about the waste water, however. Do I simply just stick the waste water tubing down the same area where the waste water from the washing machine runs? I used this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtCqynlmHRc for reference and it appears that the waste water from the RO/DI isnt plumbed into the washing machines waste water tubing, is this correct?
Thanks!

That's exactly right. Just stick it into the drain a little ways where it won't fall out. A lot of people will use the waste water from the RODI to fill up the washing machine as well just to save water. Simply pull the hose out of the drain and let it run into the washer until it is about half full (leave room for the clothes) and then stick it back into the drain.

Other uses for your waste water include drinking, watering plants, and filling freshwater tanks.
