The way I read your title I thought u were give us a review. I know mojo ( has a skimmer Q&A thread here) says the skimz are well built units, but are going through an update process on there pin wheels, and people should wait for them to finish.

Bump for u though.

The sm201 is fine it uses a 5000 pump that has no issues at all. The sk201 however uses the edan 2800 pump. Out of all their pumps, the 5000 is the best. Its quiet and runs perfectly. So with that being said the sm201 is a great skimmer and no need to wait on getting one. Compares to the sro 3000ss model

Hey Mojo,
I have the sm201, do all the ES5000 pumps have the correct impeller? Also I've been running it for about 4 days. I can't seem to fine tune the skimz sm201. The foam isn't a thick foam. The sm201 has a water level of 9 inchs. The micro adjustable valve is covering half of the water outlet. The air intake tap is almost dialed all the way down inorder for me to get fine bubbles. How do I know if I have the new orange impeller? I purchased the skimmer in march 2011 but just setup the tank last week. Please help me. I've read the instructions several times and can't figure out how to fine tune the skimmer.

Thanks

As much as Mojo would love to answer your question, he probably won't find it on my thread. Go over to his thread, and post there.

Make sure it has the newer pump on it. Not the 5000 series of pumps. I have a external duel pump that I Just took off a tank. Went through too many impellers at 120.00 each.
