hey guys so i know about ATO systems but am not looking to get one for my QT tank (10 gallon)

problem is every 24 hours my reading goes from 1.022 to 1.025!

so i fix it every night back to 1.022, is this gonna stress the fish significantly??

thanks

The temperature of my room is 75 and I keep my tank at 76. My heater doesn't work hard and the evaporation is minimal. If the tank temp is kept quite a bit warmer than the ambient room temp, you get more evaporation.

That is a pretty big swing. I don't know what that will do to fish over a long period of time.

how much top off are you having to use on the 10g each day?

well im starting to calculate how much right now, lol false alarm though my hydrometer had bubbles on the swing, hate that thing

looks like in a 24 hour period it only raises by 0.001, so not too bad im thinking a quarter of a gallon a day evaporates but well see

I'm sure you'll hear it plenty, invest in a refractometer when you can. very worth it.

just for reference, I run a 58g with 20g sump, temp sits around 82-83, ambient room temp sits as cold as my two window a/c units can manage (probably 70-75ish most the time), loads of surface agitation in both sump and the display. I may evap roughly 5g per week. sometimes slightly more but not by much.
