I have cheato in my sump that will not grow at all. It is lit with 3 spiral 100 watt bulbs. Does this stuff need quite a bit of flow? My sump has extremely slow flow. Cant even see the movement. Any suggestions?
thanks

Well Jeff, I have the same problem. Maybe we can solve it through collective ignorance. I have some in my sump however, mine has fairly good flow and is on a metal halide that comes on for 6 hours opposite of the main display. i run the lights opposite because somewhere i read that lighting will cause ph flux. so by running the sump light opposite of display i hoped to have solved that. I am worried that you have almost no current in your sump. Is your return pump strong enough? well maybe if nothing else this will bump your post and we can both get some answers.

How much nutrient do you have in your water? Chaeto grows faster when there is more fertilizer.
