Hello,

Hopefully an easy question... do I need to put foam under my glass sump?

I'm not really concerned about noise, more so to prevent cracks etc?

And also with the drain pipe from the tank to the sump... should the end of the pipe be submerged under water in the sump or should it sit just above the waterline?

Thanks,

I do not have any foam under my sumps. One of my sumps has a frame and is supported on the outer edges. The other is a flat plexi bottom which requires full support on the bottom. (Mind sits flat on the plywood of the stand) Just make sure it is on a level surface and you should not have any issues.
My returns are submerged under water. This will reduce the amount of noise in your sump.
Hope this help, good luck.
