need a quick answer !!!

heading over to a friends to break down a couple fresh water tanks. He has some big fish. Ill have to either get some big bags from the lfs or use buckets. Buckets require aerators right? or would they be ok for 30min in buckets. if the buckets do need aerators anyone know why and why not in bags?

they should be fine for 30mins.. hour at most IMO..
just don't overcrowd them ;)
you can always do quick w/c to bucket too... or use turkey baster to blow the water around every so often...

if you're using a bucket for 30 minutes I dont see a problem with that. If youre worried about oxygen just break the surface of the water with a pitcher every 10 minutes or so.

We moved my gf's freshwater tank from one house to another and the first thing we did was take the fish out, tear the tank down move the tank, put it back together then added the fish and they were fine

Ideal is buckets with battery operated air pumps. For 30 minutes buckets are best, bags are ok.
