Well, I have been in the hobby for about 3 years and started with a 20l and upgraded to a 29gallon. Unfortunately 2 weeks ago the front glass cracked and all of the water came out. Total disappointment. :sad2:

I got my hands on a barely used 8 gallon biocube and going to give it another shot. I wanted suggestions on any mods for these neat creatures. I will be keeping mainly zoas and mushrooms. As far as the lighting I want to keep as is.. It is the filtration where I need help..

Please list your suggestions::hammer:

I have a BC8 set up, the only mods I have done so far are

1- cut the tab between chamber 1 and 2 for increased water flow
2- removed the bioballs from chamber 2
3 - replaced the balls with Chemipure elite, filterfloss, and carbon pad

This quick change has kept a very stable little tank for the 4 months it has been up. Mind you it is a very light bioload with only a clown, peppermint shrimp, and a small CUC

corals are in the works

Any updates? I'm in the process of setting up one of these myself.

I had a minijet 606 and koralia nano for flow, cut the tab between chambers 1 and 2 for more flow, put carbon and chemipure elite in chamber two with filter floss above the piece that comes with it for the middle, and put the heater in chamber 1. It worked out nicely for me. I also took the top off and put a mh light to support clams

I cut the top, added a skimmer, UV sterilizer, Oceanic chiller, powerhead, Apex controller, Phosban reactor, you can do everything you want on these cubes
