Just for curiosity's sake... When our condo was built they put a huge hole in the wall for a TV. It's got drywall (or whatever they use) all in it. Do you think it would be strong enough to hold maybe a 30 gal or less? I don't know much about construction or anything, but i do know that hole is fugly!!

Thanks

30 gallons of seawater is 240# + rock + tank...

Not sure if I would put that much weight up there.
You could easily test this out with sandbags or metal weights.
Cleaning up some cracked drywall if it doesn't hold will be easier than 30 gallons of water.

If it truly is a T.V. Shelf then there's no problem with a 30 gallon. It was framed in with 2x4's.

It's def intended for a TV to be put in it. There's a cable hook up and power outlet in the hole. I'm not sure about how practical it would be with the aquarium equipment nd everything, but visually it would be a neat place to put one.

Thanks!

We have the same thing above our fireplace. I'd be very comfortable putting a 30g in it... not sure where all the equipment would go but it'll hold the tank and whatever else you want to put up there
