I have an oceanic tank and it appears that the joint seam that is the structural silicone has some small gaps...based on a quick evaluation, there appears to be enough support to keep the glass in tact.

1.) The trim from oceanic is built like a tank
2.) The weight of the front glass is heavy
3.) The inner joints are thick and RTV 103 (Adhesive silicone) is used

I couldn't see how a few small air gaps in the seam structural joints could cause this tank to fail.

Can anyone chime in on this? thoughts?

Age? At any rate, likely not an issue, though pictures would help.

Here's the thread. I replaced the one corner with Momentive RTV-103, three times since I'm new to this and my silicone work is sloppy.

So it appears the joint seam gaps are slightly growing by .1 mm after the last time I stripped off the silicone. Or it could be that the tank hasnt been filled with water the last 2 months given the fact it was always filled for 3 years straight prior to the breakdown.

You already had those threads, you didn't need to start this one. I see no issues here, just use it.

Ok, I've dug around a little more and found out that people who have repaired the seams have redone the entire tank inside. I hope that's not the case for me. Is putting thick amount of RTV-103 be good enough? This tank never leaked, I just wanted to replace the existing seam since it seemed worn. Please anyone on this...
