Pair of Clowns. Good Idea?

I am cycling a 65 gallon FOWLR tank, and I am thinking that my first two fish will be a pair of ocellaris clownfish. Is this a good idea or can a pair of clownfish eventually come back to bite me in the ***. I plan on having a peaceful community tank.

if you want the clowns get them if you dont get a chromis

I definitely want the Ocellaris clowns. Just wanted to know if there were any negatives on getting a pair.

a pair is fine but know your out like 40 bucks if they die instead of 5 or 6 bucks

Don't listen to him, I don't know why he is trying to talk you out of it; Clowns are almost bulletproof... If you get a pair, in 6 months to a year they will be mature and may begin to spawn, then they will start to get aggressive and try to take over about 30 gallons of tank space. If you get only one instead, he won't get to be that aggressive.

Thats the answer I was looking for Alex and that settles it that I will only get 1. I am waiting for my tank to completely cycle before I get any fish anyway.

oh then if you want a clown it is perfect if you get them like 1/2in they might be less teritorial if you dont plan to add more fish soon

Yea, I will be purchasing the clown small, but I maybe be purchasing 1 more fish with it, like a goby.

so you might be able to get a pair and be fine if you get a goby with it because ocellaris are one of the most peaceful clowns

They will still be aggressive, just not as much.

I have a pair of ocellaris and a pair of flame angels in the same tank, they constantly battle for space. The clowns are the more aggressive pair. Now this isn't psycho trigger aggression, just a bit of an annoyance to the other fish.

Ok, I think I will definitely just get 1 Ocellaris clown then 1 other fish that I have been researching, not sure which one, will dependon their stock.
