Okay guys and gals, so I'm looking for a little bit of your input.
Currently I have my 120 Gallon Reef tank up and going, and of course I've became quite bored with my time and want to start a new project!!
Here's my options as of right now...
1. FOWLR tank: I have a couple unused tanks, 55, 29, 20, 10... I've been considering tying in one of the tanks, probably the 55 into my current 120 gallon. I would probably run a PVC type overflow from my 120 to the 55 then from the 55 down to the original filtration of my 120. I'm not quite sure what I want in it yet, but thats my first option. I already have a 48' 50/50 light that would work quite nicely.
OPTION 2--- I recently gave my freshwater fish to my girlfriend, so now I have an unused 34 gallon cube. Now here are the issues with this one. It is basically JUST the tank. I would have no problem whipping up a stand, but other than that I'm on my own. I'm not sure if I could drill it, or if I could even run a PVC overflow with this small tank but I have considered using my 55 for a monster sump for it. I would probably take my 2 clowns and put them in there and run some corals but as for lights, filtration, and anything else I'm new to the nanos...
OPTION 3---- I've REAAAALLY been thinking about this one hard lately... I've been thinking about a FRAG tank... I was wanting to tie it into my 120 plumbing as well like the FOWLR tank. I have a 40 gallon breeder at home I could use but theres one issue.. On the bottom of the tank it says "not for aquarium use"??? Has anybody tried to ignore that warning? lol what are the dangers in trying to use it for a frag tank? If that wont work what other tank would you suggest me trying to obtain?
As for lights go, my buddy will let me use his 400W monster light, he said he use to run it 24/7 to just make the corals huge, can anybody give me any input on that? I'm not so sure about how that will do for the corals/my electric bill...
Sorry for the long post, but I'm so bored with my time and want to start a new project!! Any input is MUCH appreciated!!! :)
