tank is barely 3 months old. all parameters perfect. all inhabitants doing great. i have strong lighting and good reciculation. is it too early for a clam?

Clams need excellent, stable, water conditions at all times as do lighting. You already have the lights of course. IMO, it's better to wait at least 3 more months before adding a clam that way the tank matures a bit more.

I would wait at least 3-6 more months and make sure all your parameters are stable, consistently. I would keep calcium at 400ish and Alk at 10-12ish, SG=1.025-1.027, temp around 80, ph 8.0-8.4.....these would be perfect parameters for clams in my book.
