I have the stock solana skimmer. Was thinking about going with the tunze 9002 with custom cup. Is this my best choice?

I have a Solana with the tunze and I'm just not all that satisfied. I've done the air mod have it tuned in the best of my ability and it produces a light tea / greenish junk but I would like to see someone produce something better. I heard if you can find a sapphire skimmer they do pretty. Also heard the deltec nano skimmer performed well.

:) where are you going to fit a Bubble King or ASM in the rear compartment of a Solana?

To the OP, I'd take a look at the Aquamax HOB skimmers. They're essentially the same thing as the Warner Marine HOB models. I've used the stock Solana skimmer, the Tunze 9002 (was happy with that), and the Warner Marine H2.. they're all good skimmers, but the WM was the best out of the three, IMO.

There's also the Deltec MCE300 which would be nice, but it costs more. I've heard good things about the new Octopus SRO hang on back skimmers, but haven't tried them. Be careful with Octo Hang on back models, as there are a few. Some are good, some are not.
