Hi,

Looking for some advice.....

I've had my 250i running for a few days now and its driving me crazy. I can't get it consistent no matter what I try, let alone generating any skimmate.

It seems to have a mind of its own and even when it looks set right, it will suddenly appear to lose 50% of its power and then an hour later go nuts again.

Getting close to asking ATI for a refund! Anyone out there had a similar issue and resolved it?

I got no instructions (all in German) so had little to go on.....

Thanks

Chris

Are you in the states?
The skimmer may need to break in, meaning all the oily residue off the acrylic need to come off.

Nope in the UK.

Any idea how long the break-in might take?

It may take a week to breakin.
One way to speed up the process is to put the skimmer in a small container with several gallons of white vinegar and let it run for 6-7 hours.( big enough to cover pumps with vinegar)

Ok, not heard about breaking in a skimmer before. Does this apply to all acylic skimmers or specifically the powercone?

All new skimmers need to be broken in. This process can take even more than a week - patience.

How is that skimmer performing for you now?
