About 3"

I do hope you threw that at someone!!! Those are NOT to be wasted and make great water balloons.

Wow, and I thought the slightly over golf-ball sized one I got a few years back was the biggest, that thing's insane!

I've never seen any that big in a tank, but I've seen some that size when we go snorkeling in the Keys. But that's about the max size I've even seen in the wild.

I saw a 3-4" diameter one in a LFS display tank once.... it was bigger than half the fish in the tank.

Used to have one about an inch in diameter and almost perfectly round.

When people asked me what it was they were told, "A sailor's eyeball ..."

This could be the beginning of a new trend. Once there are enough large bubble algae, there would be an annual event of who has the largest bubble algae and Macna would hold competition for this event.:D
