Corals don't stay !!!!!!!!!!!

how the hell do you guys use lactate super glue gel to glue ur damn corals?

I have use an entire bottle and by the time the water hits the glue the glue isn't sticking to the wet LR anymore.

how the hell do you guys do this

I like the two part epoxy better. Much easier to work with.

2 drops does the job usually...

turn power heads off, and hold it in place for a couple of mins. turn PH on 15 mins later.

You need to give us more details.

Here is what I have done with no problems. First, try and dry off the base of the coral you are gluing. Also make sure the rock is dry. Then what I do is add the gel to both the rock and the coral and then stick the coral to the rock. I also try and build up the gel glue around the base afterwards to give more support. I also let it sit out of the tank for a minute or two to let it set up.

I use a combo of glue and water weld putty.

I first dry off the bottom of the coral and glue it to the putty. I then put glue on the other side of the putty and smash that into a rock in my aquarium.

The putty makes it wasy to angle and position and eventually the coral encrusts over the puty, hiding it (or coraline)

yea, I was told to NOT remove the rock and leave it in the water.

I usually attach corals underwater, as my rocks are pretty big. I use the Water Weld epoxy, put Loc-Tite gel on the bottom of the epoxy where it'll attach to the rock; and also put gel on top of the epoxy where the coral will attach to. Then wedge the epoxy/gel/coral combo into some cracks/ledges on the rock in the tank and hold for 10 seconds or so.

i just glue mines underwater all the time. place it where you want it and use the needle side and squirt it in between the rock, havent done vertical ones though.

i put the glue on the coral, than dip the coral into the water than try to attach it to the rock but by than the glue isn't even sticky or sticking it just falls off

+1 this. one of the most effective methods I've used also.

Get a small piece of rubble rock. Drill a hole in it, put some super glue in the hole And place the coral in the hole. You can place that rubble/coral anywhere now with 2 part epoxy. You can also just glue it a frag plug, dip in the water a couple times to get the gel to skin over and place it a low flow section for a little while while it cures. Use the same method as above to attach the plug with 2 part epoxy.


But what I really want to know is who makes lactate super glue gel? I looked at baby's r us and could find it...

Yup, that's the one I use: Loctite Super glue gel. One possibility as to why it is not working for you is that you have a film of algae or dirt or slime on the rock you are trying to glue unto. Take a toothbrush and scrub that area in the rock you want to glue. When you are sure it is bare rock, put the glue on the frag or coral base where you expect it to make contact, then put it into the tank and hold it in place without moving for at least a count of ten. Works like a charm for me. Here's a sample. Ypu can still see the freshly hardened glue where the rock and the frag are in contact.

I also had problems with my Gorilla brand s g gel so I use plumbers epoxy putty in a stick from home desperate. The surface of the corals base and the rock are so jagged and uneven if you use both putty and super glue gel it works much better and stays put but if you can find a hole the coral will stay easier and attach itself....
