hate to make a new thread, but figure id make a new thread to get more attention, cause i know people dont like to go read an old thread sometimes..

So some of you may read, my Snowonyx male took a jump out of the tank http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2075226
And i dont know how long he was out of the water, i just know there was no water around him, and he was at the semi sticky/dry point, when i put him back in the tank.. he nosed dived to the bottom (i thought he was dead at the point) about 30 seconds later you could see him start to breath and he slowly came back to life, moving a little more over time.. This happened on the morning of 9/27.. so now a full day has gone by.. and i got 1 concern

Picture

his tail seems to be deteriorating more and more as the day goes on .. ** (( Only were the discoloration is... ))** what happens if it continues, with all the discoloration of his tail, which is most of it.. is there a point of no return?
what should i do to help him out?

In this picture you can see the discoloration part... kind of forms a triangle, that tips just a little bit past his tail.. past the black line

these pics were taken earlier today, since then there is a little bit more tail gone.. :(

Awww that sucks! :(. I don't really have any useful advice, but I thought I'd mention that my Yasha goby had most of his dorsal fin bitten off. It looked terrible and I thought it would be like that forever, but it's mostly grown back now.

I know that's not terribly helpful right now, but I just wanted to reassure you that after the dead tissue has fallen off and a little time has passed, he could start healing back to his former glory.

Maybe add some slime coat to the water?

wow! i have lost several clowns to jumping, you were lucky to find it in time. the healing process will take some time...don't be discouraged, perhaps the melafix treatment will assist in the healing. good luck! :)

What other fish are you keeping in the tank with your injured clownfish? It looks like he is getting nipped/bitten! If there are no other fish, then your female might be getting to aggressive for his liking. Which is probably why he jumped out of the tank the other night. IMO, separate him and quarantine until he gets better. Good luck those are some sweet clownfish you have!

His tail is like that cause it dried out when he jumped out.. cause he was prettty dry when i found him after he had jumped out.
and at this point just looking for a medication of some sort (which one has already been pointed out)

and he could have jumped out cause its natural for fish to jump with the lights go out.. not always aggressive related.. and its a paired up pair whose been together for nearly two years.. never shown over aggressive actions towards eachother...

Just keep an eye on him. NO medication at all yet. If you start to see redness or white cottony material forming pull him and get him in a hospital tank with Furan 2 for 10 days. Should be just fine.

Melafix/Pimafix are a waste of time.
