the most recent addition is my yellow watchman goby, haven't seen him in a couple weeks though.

If i could change one thing about the set up is the overflow, I should have gone with a glass-holes overflow instead of making my own. It takes up a good amount of area.

Looks great! What sort of light fixture are you running?

Do you have a CUC at all?

i did DIY LED from RapidLED 24 royal blue and 12 white i need to find a better way to hang them, and my CUC is 2 hermits and 2 snails right now. I have to get more soon. The overflow isn't really noticeable because its black the same color as the back glass

I like the rock, you've had the tank for 48 days and the goby's been in for a few weeks, you sure he's still alive?

How'd making your overflow go? I'll be doing my own shortly as well but a bit nervous about it. Contemplated glass holes as well.

LOoks like a much bigger tank than a 40, with the rockscape...looks great.

as far as I know he still is, there hasn't been an ammonia spike since the goby was added, from what I've read its normal behavior for them to disappear when first added for a few weeks to a month, I know but i already wish I went bigger, I'm planning to upgrade after I graduate college to a 280 or something similar.

Looks good! You might want to adjust those powerheads upward though. Having them clash at the waters edge would be much better IMO. (gas exchange) Corals that need alot of flow can be placed in the middle, those who do not can be placed on the outskirts.

+1 and for wahtever reason when you point a powerhead up, tanks seem to be a bit more turbulent helping keep detritus from settling. Great looking breeder BTW!

I'm assuming when you do that it creates more of a circular flow pattern

On Sunday I'm picking up a few zoa frags from a guy in San Antonio: dragon eye, purple death, red keds, and candy apple and another of my choice for $50. Do y'all think that's a good deal?

also, what would be the best way to secure the frags to my rock?

Good looking tank and I also like the rocks, are the Marcos Dry Rocks and what are you using for sand/sub what brand and size did you end up getting

For the rocks i ordered the BRS reefsaver rock if i remember correctly, and i bought one piece of live rock from my LFS to seed. The sand was from Marco Rocks, it was the larger of the grain size.
