I know most people say you need 250w to keep anything but I do not plan on keeping sps. So would a 150w be ok for softies lps andan anemone? I have deep sand bed so water depth would be no more than 19".

I think you will be fine with 150's There is a ballast that has multiple wattages so if you change your mind you do not have to buy another ballast

yes 150's would be fine. also the adjustable ballasts would be a good idea.
would give you options.

So a single 150w will be fine. Do you suggest the adjustable ballast in case I want sps or is there a chance my corals wouldnt strive under a single 150?

The ballast is a Galaxy Select Watt HQI 150 175 250 watt model. The select watt is almost the same price as a single watt version. The 150 should be fine you may want to change your corals down the line so this way you will not have to buy another ballast

150 watt HQI will be fine for what you are doing. That is plenty of light.

ok yeh the I plan on getting a complete fixture as I do not have a canopy. I truly don't want to hang the fixture so my last question is out of these 2 fixtures which should I go with? Hamilton belize or marineland pro hqi? The marineland stands about 2.5" off the surface and the hamilton is about 6". Will they both cover a 24x24 area or do I need the height of the hamilton
