I'm looking at going with an ATI sunpower 60" 8x80 for my mixed reef. I haven't ordered yet but when I do, which bulb combination would be best and where is the best (cheapest) place to buy these bulbs. thanks!

5 ATI Blue Plus, 2 ATI Purple Plus and 1 GE 6500k.

Reefgeek will have everything you need or you can try Premium Aquatics. Shipping on those 60" fixtures is super expensive last time I looked into it. See if a LFS can get one in for you or something.

I just bought some bulbs at marinedepot I bought 6 and got free shipping and no handling, and the nice thing is that they'll price match other sites. So i usually go through them since I trust their site. Of course now after I ordered my replacements I start to think about building a LED setup :p

Thanks! I know it's tough to capture the true color in pics but could you guys attach a photo or 2 to see how it looks? Thanks again.

It's not tough to capture real life color in pictures....it's impossible!

There are 95 things that change how a picture can look. For example, your monitor is calibrated different than mine and that will completely change the look. That is just one example.

Here's mine. I feel my tank is a little bluer than represented here.

Standard 210 gallon. I think it's 30" deep x 72" long. I started building my "fish room" about a year ago. I have to get a counter top for my sump bench and then start plumbing. I plan on using the baseboard room heater for heat with a "in sump" backup. I'll have the 210 with a 55 corner refugium and 30 gallon sump. I have a spare 75 gal. "emergency" tank in there too but that will be empty unless there's an emergency. Hoping to have water in there by the end of the month.

Reefgeeks is a great place for bulbs. The GE 6500K you can buy in bulk and get them for like 4 or 5 bucks a piece, but than you have to figure out how to get rid of extra.
