glass thickness for my refugium...

Im in the process of turning my 55gal tank into a refugium and I need to head to my nearest hardware store to pick up some glass to make the baffles. Can someone tell me how thick the glass panels need to be?? I want to make sure when I start adding the water to the tank, I dont want the glass to break under the pressure of the sand and water. I use 1/4" baffles for my sumps, I have read that some people use 1/8". I would be afraid a 1/8" baffle might break if bumped while moving equipment around in the sump.

I would not use anything smaller than 3/16 of an inch thick plate glass.
