hello all,

how often do you change your non membrane filters?
i know it varies place to place, but according to my tds
meter, im looking at an average of 3-4 months.

seems a bit much to me.

The frequency of changes depends a lot upon your water source. Have you taken a TDS reading on your source water?

Mine's about every six months for carbon and prefilters, 8 or more for DI resins. I change prefilters based on pressure and I use finer than normal filters so I trap smaller stuff. It's funny, but it also changes depending on where I hook the RO/DI up. I use the kitchen sink now and it clogs up faster than when I used the washing machine outlet.

I,too, use the drop in pressures to decide when to change the carbon and prefilters. My new unit is running about 4 months and they are about due for a change. The DI resin still looks good. I expect my membrane to run at least a year. My source water has a TDS of 150-180.
