Do I need to quarantine snails and hermits? And if so how do I keep the snails and hermits alive in the bare quarantine tank?

Thanks

Wash them off with tank water, then discard the tank water. Put them on in. I've been at this decades and never gotten ich or parasites from snails or hermits or other inverts thus treated. Of course---I am careful where I buy livestock, and if they have infested tanks on the premises (fish with ich) I won't buy anything live.

ive never quarantined any snails or inverts either like sk8r said, i generally will get a tupperware and fill it with tank water and grab a toothbrush to scrub the snail shells rinse and repeat as much as you like. then plop them into tank, haven't had any problems so far.

There's not a whole lot of threads here on RC where an invertebrate was the "root of all evil" because they didn't go through QT. Just keep a weather eye. This is something that you can take advantage of at your LFS rather than mail order.
