I just got a juvie Koran. I also have a couple small tangs. Live quaria said to feed a high quality angelfish preperation. What would a high quality preperation consist of?

I had one many many years ago -- before I realized that they get entirely too big for a 75 -- and used "Angel formula", along with numerous other frozen foods.

The best IMO would be to make your own. Use every kind of fresh fish you can think of(clams, mollusks, scallops, shrimp, silversides, any white fish, squid, octopus, etc.) then add a vitamin supplement or two(Selcon, Vitachem, Zoecon, etc.) Blend it up to suitable sizes in the blender and pour into ziplock bags. Press flat and freeze. You can then break off the proper amount each day for feeding.

Other things New Life Spectrum Pellets(essential), Hikari Angel Formula, Ocean Nutrition Angel Formula, Nori sheets, Mysis.

Do at least a few of these and mix it up by feeding. I would absolutely feed New Life Spectrum everyday and mix in the others.

you got good suggestions from others. just make sure to feed daily the angel formula from ocean nutrition since it contains sponge which is the main diet of most large angels. dissection of large angels show that 70% of their diets consist of sponges and tunicates, and there have been reports that claim having sponge in the diet helps them maintain their bright colorations as well as strong immune system.

of course, supplements with other food rich in protein and vitamins. variety is the key to a good diet.

I feed shrimp which you can buy raw frozen and feed also farm raised mussels you can buy at your local grocery store I would also feed nori which you can get very cheap at your local asian store and a good quality flake(ocean nutrition) or pellet like new life spectrum. In my experience koran angel grow fast and is very prone to
hlle if not given a good diet and maintaing good water quality is a must even though they are tough as nails.

so feeding frozen food every day is good?
I thought forzen food makes the water go bad

my angels eat PE Mysis, so every day I take a small chunk of PE, put selcon and 2 drops of Kent Garic

is that too much?

thx
