I am experiencing issues witj the 7096 controller while using Windows 7 64bit operating system. I have gone and loaded the software update and still the computer is not recognizing the controller. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using the software on the disk or downloaded from the site? If from disk try the one on the Tunze site. I believe there was a change in the delay period the USB waits for in a recent update.

Initially from the disk. Also went to the site and loaded the latest update. Still getting "can't start device (10)"

I have never used Windows 7, so this is from experience with Vista and XP.

1) Does the controller light up at all? When connected to USB the green LED's should come on if the controller is working.

2) The program only checks COM1, COM2 and COM3, be sure that the computer has not assigned a much higher COM port to the controller and reassign as needed, flow control should be Xon/Xoff

3) If this is a laptop, the USB cable may be too long for the lower power of laptop USB ports and a shorter USB A to USB A cable may be all that is needed.

Yes, the green lights come on.

Keep getting an error that reads " can't start device (10)"

I don't have an answer, let me ask someone who may know, I know it has been tested on 64bit 7 as that is what they use at the factory on the computers there. You don't have any other computer you could try just so we could try to narrow this down to be sure the controller is working?

Tried it on 2 different ones with the same OS. Same results both times. Am currently in the process of trying to find a shorter Ethernet cable and see if that will change anything.

Guessing the controller was bad for some reason. The new one arrived, and hooked right up to the software and runs flawlessly. The old one was sent back to you with the label provided.
