My Bangaii is holding eggs again. I want to try to raise the fry again (last time I only kept them alive for 3 days). Last time I used frozen baby brine shrimp. I don't think they ate it.

This time I would like to raise my own baby brine shrimp. I need to purchase brine shrimp eggs but I don't know how much I should get (as in quantity). The tutorials I read/watch mention that 1/2 teaspoon is what I need.

I would like to buy enough that I can store for future attempts as well.

Can you let me know where you get your eggs from and how big the container is?

Thanks

I buy them by the pound. You need a lot less than that. :)

Artemia USA has a 30 gram pouch, about 1.5 ounces, which is a good starter size. And you might only need 1/8 to 1/4 a teaspoon.

They seem to only be able to ship from Taiwan. I don't know if I want to try to order from them as it might take too long to get here.

I doesn't take much. I found San Francisco Bay Brand brine shrimp eggs 6gm vials locally and bought a couple of them. I've been hatching every 24 hours for three weeks and still have a little left.

I get the grade a from brineshrimpdirect.com
Get the smallest container if you're not sure how much you need.
