I bought a couple bags of Nature's Ocean Bio-Activ Live Aragonite Samoa Pink Reef Sand last week and there was an aiptasia in it. I didn't realize it was that live. Has anyone else have this happen to them?

That's crazy! Did you notice it before you poured it into the tank? or was it too late?

No, I saw it two days after I setup my tank. It was a brand new tank with just the three bags of sand, and 15 lbs. of BRS dry Pukani rock. The aiptasia was about a quarter inch tall right in the middle of the sandbed. It couldn't have come from the rock.

Its possible. Aiptasia can survive pretty much anything lol. Just scoop it out and discard it.

I took it out as soon as I saw it.

well at least you are sure they didn't just sell you wet sand and all it live (-= but that's still pretty amazing. I should just raise them instead since they require no maintenance.

Lucky you saw it now before putting in coral

There isn't going to be any coral, just my peacock mantis. She needs a bigger tank.
