Thanks, not shaking the vial with DI water and Reagent A was not mentioned earlier, will it make a difference if the vial is not inverted several times before zeroing the meter?

Hi All
I have just purchased the new Ca meter. I have read everyones comments and purchased some extra equipment to make the test more accurate.
Some sterile water for injections:

And some insulin syringes (0.3ml):

The first result was 489, which is pretty much inline with Salifert, give or take. (And yes I know its a tad high!). So basically I am happy with the result.
But, not happy with the quality of the rest of the contents. The syringe tip for the "white" syringe does not seal and the reagent simply will not stay in the syringe/tip. The packing is not good either along with the quality of the curvets. I had the store owner swap them out until I found two that weren't scratched.
I would think hanna should up the quality of the curvets and the syringes supplied. Overall though, a good checker that is not that much harder to use than another test kit.
cheers

Was having serious concerns about this meter wich i recieved earlier this week. Salifert test showed 490 but the checker tests were all in the 550 to 560 range.
I did alot or reading on the checker and found these instructions.. and because i was reading a syringe wrong and the muniscous wrong is what my issue was. now readings are inline with 487 and 489 on last two tests.
I think ill be able to get used to this checker, I am happy with it now.. but really feel due to such a small sample size/ dilution test. better syringes, better instructions, and rodi water from hanna should be included with the tests. I was ready to throw it out yesterday until i found this thread..
