View Full Version : Help with skimmer pump

pump is askoll 1500. any way to tell if the pump itself is bad. just got a new impeller and pinwheel and still doesn't work. will start up out of water with volute cover off, spins for a few seconds then stops. put the cover on put it water and nothing, then spins maybe for as few and stops. ive soaked in vinager scrubbed etc. looking in i don't see any buildup where the shaft goes.
any help or ideas to try will be appreciated

I am having the same problem. My pump stays on for a while. when I go back to look the skimmer is off. Not sure what the problem is....

What brand is the pump? How old are they?

The askoll 1500 has electronic circuitry inside it that keeps it starting one way and from overheating ect. There is a possibility its bad but they are few and far between.

it is the askoll 1500. Im not sure how old it is becasue i bought it used.. I guess the pump is going bad....
