MP40 wetside

I picked up a used mp40w and I can't figure out how to put the wetside together. I have the instruction manual but things just do not go together as I think they should.
I burned through the magnet and do not even know if it is salvageable, here is the pic of the damage.

I watched the video online of putting the gen 2 together and did not see the warped looking plastic part that fits onto the ceramic bearing.
My ceramic bearing does not fit into the front of the wet frame as shown in the video. Could my wetside be a gen 1? and also is there a different assembly process, and do you have any idea when the newer wetside with the longer drive shaft came out?
